Circus Elephants

The circus has been in town, and if you ever wondered how circus elephants are trained - you should know it's a horribly abusive thing they go through. Circus elephants deserve much better treatment than they get. Actually, they deserve to live in the wild, where they belong, not performing "tricks" for humans.

Elephant Trekking and Circus Performances

The Ringling Bros circus is in town, and it was very strange - as we were coming home after seeing the animal rights documentary, "How I Became an Elephant", an ad for the circus elephants was on the radio. They were talking about "magnificent elephant paintings" and elephant performances in the circus, too. What they failed to mention is that baby elephants are horribly abused in order to be "broken" so they can be "trained"... it's a horrific practice, involving beating them with sticks with metal hooks on the end. They just jab these metal hooks into the hides of these poor baby elephants - it's truly awful. Before you give ANY money to the abuse of these elephants, please watch the elephant documentary - animal activists Tim Gorski and Synthian Sharp directed this one.
