The Man Who Saved the World Finally Recognized
Col. Petrov, of the Soviet army, made the decision over 20 years ago to NOT push the "button" to start World War III.
He had a computer glitch that told him 5 US missiles were on their way to the Soviet Union. It was his job to automatically push the red button. He refused.
Good thing - just imagine how the past 21 years would have been if he had launched a missile strike against the U.S.
